Squeeze pages are an integral part of any successful web based business - they are the principal tool in building your customer and prospective customer list. List building is a way that you can generate cash when you want it - the bigger your list, the more cash you can generate. With a large list, you have many clients and prospective clients to make offers to - selling your services and products when you want to.
The concept of a squeeze page is quite simple - it's named such because it 'squeezes' potential customers into giving you're their email address and name before you give them access to the rest of your site. Usually the squeeze page is the first page that your visitors see.
The 5 commandments for creating squeeze pages:
1. Thou shall offer something of value to your visitors. By offering something free to your visitors, whether it's an eBook, a report, or video, you're compelling them to delve further into your website - and all they have to do is give their name and email address.
2. Thou shall astound them with a headline. By creating an attention grabbing and interesting headline, you keep visitors on your page, willing them to read further. Studies show that the success of your squeeze page relies on your headline - you only have as much time as it takes to read a compelling, attention grabbing headline to intrigue your visitors to keep reading your squeeze page.
3. Thou shall use bullets. Bullets are one to four word phrases that easily and quickly summarize the top reasons and benefits that your prospects have for reading on and getting to your sales page. Five bullets are ideal, but anywhere from three to seven bullets will do the trick.
4. Thou shall add audio. By adding audio, you can exponentially increase the percentage of people who opt in and give you their name and email address for your list - this is called conversion. Audio appeals to a different sense and can compel and instruct people to do what you want them to do - give their name and email address and get to the next step - the sales page. Audio also opens your web page up for people who don't know how to read well or just don't like to read a lot of writing.
5. Thou shall split test your squeeze pages. Split testing is running two versions of the same squeeze page at the same time, in an effort to see which one brings in the best conversion. You can change the headline, bullets, audio, layouts, colors and free offers to increase your conversion rates.
